Written for and premiered by today’s performers, Huw Watkins’s extraordinary Piano Trio no.2 is a single movement work and a compelling journey of melodic beauty and rhythmic brilliance. Schumann’s radiant Piano Quintet crowns the weekend - a work that revolutionised the musical character of the piano quintet.
